ESTABLISHING TURFGRASS USUALLY REQUIRES SOME FINESSE!

Finesse Turf Type Tall Fescue

Finesse II Tall Fescue traces it’s ancestry to tall fescue plants selected from old turfs in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Missouri in a continuous germplasm improvement initiated in 1962 at Rutgers University. Plants selected from old lawn-type turfs and closely grazed pastures indicated that they had persisted and spread for many years in stressful environments. Additional germplasm was selected from populations used to develop Rebel tall fescue.

These collected plants and progenies were different than any known cultivar available at the time of collection.

Single plant progenies were substituted to diseases, insect pests, frequent close mowing, heat, drought, and winter cold. Only the surviving clones became the progenies for Finesse II.

The result is a state-of-the-art, turf type tall fescue that produces beautiful, luxurious lawns wherever tall fescue is adapted.
