Rated #1
in Genetic Color AND Red Thread Resistance!
FIREFLY is the latest generation of advanced hard fescue germplasm. It is a dark green, leafy, persistent hard fescue with excellent cold and drought tolerance. As with most fine fescues, it is an excellent candidate for low maintenance turfs where less fertilizer, mowing frequency and irrigation can be an issue. FIREFLY even rated tops for its "un-mowed” appearance as an ornamental grass! While FIREFLY was at the top of it’s class for summer and spring greenup, it also makes an excellent shade grass which is resistant to red thread, dollar spot and leaf spot. Its winter color is unsurpassed! FIREFLY is well suited for mixing with perennial ryegrasses and bluegrasses at it’s recomended rate of 20-40% of the mix. Because of its top ten performance in the latest N.T.E.P. FIREFLY also qualifies for our “higher ground” performance tag!
Seeding Rate: 8-10 lbs per 1000 sq feet (300 - 400 lbs per acre) Fertilization: 1-3 lbs of Nitrogen per year (with Fall Fertilization emphasized) |
